Make Work

Ghost Light welcomes all enquiries - be you an actor, dancer, musician or comedian wanting a space to perform, a teacher wanting a place for a workshop or a creator wanting a space to explore new work.

The theatre is a 10 by 10 metre space located upstairs in an old sewing factory which was originally a dance hall in the 1920s. It seats about 80 people and has a green room/backstage area and a kitchen.

Booking the space for a show or ticketed event guarantees basic lights, sound and you have an option of how you would like the space set up. Our staging can be used to elevate the performers, the audience or both, depending on your needs.

We operate on a risk share basis with our artists which means we share the marketing jobs (check it out here) with you to promote your event. Ghost Light requires a small maintenance fee ($70 +gst) and 20% of the ticketing revenue, the artist receives the rest and this is paid out at the end of each month.

The bar (COMING SOON) will be run by the lovely people at The Hollow. In the meantime while we wait for NCC to help us sort the licensing, The Hollow is open for our events and serves their signature teas and expert coffee with wine and craft beer very soon to come.

Do you want to share your mad skills? Book in a weekly class or a one-off workshop to spread more artsy goodness in the region. So far we've had improv, stage acting, screen acting, yoga, West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, West African Dance, Samba rehearsals, etc... in the space. Want to book the space for a class or workshop? The price is $15 +gst an hour with a minimum fee of $30 +gst. Book in quick though, people are snapping up the evening and weekend slots.
