The People's Republic of Improv

PRI is Ghost Light Theatre's resident improvised theatre company. The troupe performs the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month at 8 pm and are determined to bring Nelson brave new improvised theatre formats, the likes that have never been seen in the region before!

The company is a cooperative of trained actors and improvisers. This quirky team has a penchant for stepping into the territory of the unscripted and the unknown. Join the revolution and see them in action twice a month at Ghost Light.

ON NOW: Wynasty

November 9, 16, 23, 30 and December 14

It's 1981 in the back blocks of Nelson and a family feud is fermenting.

Before the region was known for its sharp sauvignons and poignant pinots, it was the site of a dramatic war over the future of a burgeoning industry. There was intrigue, romance, betrayal and booze. It was "Wynasty" (not to be confused with the hit show "Dynasty" which is obviously entirely and completely different).

Featuring a star-studded cast of characters, all bent on each others' downfall, Wynasty depicts the fortunes and calamities of the mysterious Neudorf family. Each one of them has only one thing on their mind - power ... and wine ... and seduction.

At Ghost Light Theatre, every Friday in November, tune in for emotionally-charged, grapey-angst at its overly-dramatic best. Follow along the entirely improvised, hilariously serialised, live action soap opera that depicts a moment in time, when wine was king and revenge was aged in oak barrels before bottling. Enjoy ... at room temperature.

The story continues each Friday and spans 4 weeks in November starting on the 9th, with a cheeky fifth episode, The Wynasty Christmas Special on 14 December. With special guest performers each week and a Series Pass for 4 shows for $30, Netflix ain't got nothing on us.
